The pristine, nutrient-rich waters surrounding Zeballos and Nootka Sound serve as a massive migratory highway for world-class sportfish. From hard-fighting surface salmon to massive deep-water bottom fish, here are the primary species we target during our peak summer runs

Coho (Silver) Salmon

  • Season Peak: June - August

  • The undisputed king of the West Coast. Renowned for their brute strength, screaming reels, and legendary status, these powerful fighters flood the sound all summer long and offer the ultimate saltwater battle.

  • Season Peak: July - September

  • Famous for their acrobatic aerial displays and aggressive strikes, Coho salmon are incredibly fast, high-energy fighters. They provide thrilling light-tackle action right near the surface.

  • Season Peak: June - September

  • Deep-water giants that offer a true test of endurance. Found along the gravelly ocean floors, these hard-pulling bottom fish provide a great battle and are highly prized for producing some of the finest table fare on the coast.

  • Season Peak: June - September

  • Fierce, prehistoric-looking predators that guard the rugged underwater rock pinnacles. Lingcod boast aggressive bites and massive heads, sharing the structure with a vibrant variety of hard-fighting local rockfish.
